Pakistan Test Squad Announced Against Bangladesh

Pakistan Test Squad Announced against Bangladesh:

As we all know that test cricket is revived in Pakistan. Firstly,  Srilanka came here and played a test series. Now after a lot of negotiations , Bangladesh team is coming to Pakistan to play test matches. Pakistan test squad announced for the test series on 2nd february.

Injustice Prevails:

Pakistan national team head coach and chief selector Misbah ul Haq have announced the test squad in a press conference on february 2. Two players Kashif Bhatti and Usman Shinwari couldn’t make it this time. Especially, the exclusion of Kashif Bhatti is surprising. It only happens in Pakistan where a player is discarded from the squad without any chance.

Bhatti only played 4 first class matches this season and took 14 wickets. He was selected on Australia tour but didn’t get a chance. Then he was hopeful that he will get a chance in Srilanka test series but our chief selector didn’t have the courage to take a chance.

Case of Bilal Asif inclusion:

After Saeed Ajmal we are struggling in the off spin department. Literally,  there is no quality off spinner in the domestic circuit. But this season of Quaid e Azam Trophy gave us two off spinners. Nauman Ali and Bilal Asif. Both spinners are top 2 leading wicket takers. Nauman with 54 wickets in 10 matches is on number one rank.

Bilal Asif took 43 wickets in 9 matches including a 8 wicket haul in the final match.

Who deserve a chance in the team? You are wrong. Its Bilal Asif. Ok fine with this but in place of Imam only. As you have settled openers , we don’t need Imam ul Haq in the test team.

Case of Fahim Ashraf inclusion:

Fahim Ashraf only played 3 matches in QA Trophy and got selected in the test squad. Fahim is a good fast bowling all rounder. But he haven’t delivered at the top level with the bat. Fast bowling all rounder is a dilemma in our system. So Fahim is blessing and disguise. He took 8 wickets in 3 matches including a 5 wicket haul in the final. He also scored 2 fifties in 4 innings.

Misbah ul Haq justifies his selection:

Misbah ul Haq has a different point of view. According to him , Bilal Asif is selected in the team because there are many left handed batsmen in the Bangladesh squad. So , off spinner is required.

The other player who have selected is Fahim Ashraf. Misbah said that “We need a fast bowling all rounder so we selected him. He is in good rhythm and performed really well in the matches he played.”

On a question regarding Kashif Bhatti,  Misbah replied ” We don’t need a left arm spinner in this series because of too many left handers in the Bangladesh squad. But he is in our plans for sure. As we see any opportunity for him to play , we will select him and make him play”.

Misbah further said” We have followed the horses for courses policy for the Test against Bangladesh”.
