Is indian Team Becomes Invincible?

This might be the question that arises in your mind. Is indian team becomes invincible? We all know that india always produces great batsmen like Sunil GavaskarSachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, Sourav Ganguly etc.. For now its Virat Kohli , Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.

The change in indian culture is in the field of fast bowling. They have now best pacers along with quality spinners. That’s why indian team is more consistent in terms of performances.

The Buildup to Excellence:

Sourav Ganguly is the man behind India’s success stories. If we consider Test cricket and compare his record with all Indian captains over the years, Sourav emerges as the third most successful captain in terms of win percentage and the second most successful captain in terms of win/loss ratio.

Sourav Ganguly scored his second successive Test century, becoming only the third batsman to score two centuries in his first two innings and the sixth batsman to score two centuries in his first two Tests, on the first day of the third Test against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham on July 4, 1996

He introduced aggression in the indian setup.

Sourav’s win/loss ratio is even higher than that of M S Dhoni and once holds the record of highest number of wins overseas as a Test captain till 2018.

Virat Kohli though is now on top spot as the most successful test captain in overseas.

Ganguly captained india from 1999 to 2005.

This was Sourav Ganguly’s last Test match.

The MS Dhoni Era:

One of the most celebrated players ever produced by indian soil is MS Dhoni. He still holds the record of being only captain in world cricket to won 3 different ICC tournaments. The ICC T20 world cup 2007.

In 2011, Dhoni won the  ICC World Cup for india after 28 years.

The 3rd big achievement for Dhoni was the ICC champions trophy in 2013.

Dhoni injected youth in the Indian team. MSD believed that in order to take indian cricket ahead it is imperative to induct young players.

Rise in overseas performance:

India has always performed well at home. But their overseas record especially in test cricket hasn’t been good at all. Indian batsmen always struggled against seaming and swinging deliveries in the past.

Improved Fast Bowling Attack:

The current Indian team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli is no more the same. Their batsmen are more consistent now. Especially fast bowling is doing wonders. Bowlers like Jusprit Bumrah, M Shami, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ishant Sharma etc are performing in overseas conditions.

Virat Kohli himself is the modern day great. Averages overs 50 in all three formats of the game. Under his captaincy,  indian team is now the undisputed king in terms of  bilateral series winning.

First time in the history of indian cricket,  they have won a test series in Australia in 2018/19.

India won the 4 match test series by 2-1. Later on they also won the ODI series by 2-1 on the same tour.

Recently India whitewashed New Zealand in a T20I series by 5-0. This is the ist occasion that india have won the T20I series in New Zealand.

Surely india have improved a lot in every aspect of the game. Kohli , Rohit , KL Rahul and players like Bumrah and Shami are taking indian cricket to newer heights.

Sadly, they have not won any ICC trophy under Kohli’s captaincy yet. Lost against Pakistan in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 final. Then lost against New Zealand in ICC world cup 2019 semi final.

Hope so they will play aggressive cricket and continue their dominance in world cricket. So is Indian team becomes invincible? What you think ?
