Story of first two days:

First Day 3rd February 2020:

Bangladesh Tour of Pakistan Ist Test has been started already. The venue is Rawalpindi cricket stadium. Pakistan test captain Azhar Ali won the toss and elected to bowl first. All speculations about Fawad Alam came to an end after the team management went with the unchanged team.

Bangladesh brought back its ace player Tamim Iqbal for the test series. Lets move to the ground and access the ist day’s play.

Poor Batting Performance on a True Pitch:

Bangladesh opened the innings with Tamim and Debutant Saif Hasan.  Unfortunately,  the debutant fell in the very first over on the bowling of Shaheen Afridi.

Saif Hasan edged to the keeper. In the next over Abbas bowled an inswinging delivery to Tamim and was plumb in front.

Bangladesh openers were gone in only 2 overs. Here comes the skipper Momin ul Haq with Shanto as his partner. Both batsmen put a partnership of 59 runs. But right after the lunch break , skipper falls to Shaheen Afridi, edged to keeper.

Shanto was the 4th batsman to dismiss after a partnership of 33 runs. Bangladesh are now 95/4.

Just after adding 12 runs to the total score , Mahmudullah flirted with an away delivery of Shaheen Afridi and Asad Shafiq grabbed the best catch of his life in the second slip.

Tigers half team was in the dressing room at 107/5. Liton Das joined Mithun in these extreme difficult circumstances. Both batsmen tried to consolidate the innings and put a decent partnership of 54 runs.

Yasir Shah who was struggling to get a wicket , created an opportunity but Haris Sohail dropped a sitter of Liton Das. Skipper Azhar Ali gave very next over to Haris. Guess what, Haris picked up the wicket of Liton Das.

Liton tried a sweep shot and the ball missed his bat but not his pads. Bangladesh were struggling at 162/6.

Fighting Partnership at the End:

The next batsman was Taijul Islam. He and Mithun put a fighting partnership of 53 runs. When the score reached at 213, Taijul got carried away and played a rash shot to part timer Haris. Yasir Shah took a high catch easily.

Mithun played a good knock of 63 runs. Tigers bundled out at 233 runs at the end of first day’s play.

2nd Day 4th February 2020:

Pakistan openers entered the ground on a bright sunny day. Abid Ali and Shan Masood started the campaign but Abid Ali falls for a duck.

Abu Jayad picked the wicket of Abid Ali when he tried to play back foot cut shot, edged to the keeper. Skipper Azhar came to the crease. Shan Masood and Azhar Ali build up a 91 run stand.

Azhar Ali threw his wicket to Abu Jayad just like Abid did. Pakistan lost its second wicket at the score of 93.

Babar Azam and Shan Massod Dominance:

Shan Masood along with Babar Azam steal the show today by scoring centuries. Both batsmen outclassed the opposition. Tigers were clearly short of ideas against both these Pakistani batsmen.

Shan Masood falls right after scoring a ton. Taijul Islam bowled him. Pakistan lost its 3rd wicket at 205.

The second most experienced batsman of the Pakistan team Asad Shafiq joined Babar Azam. Both batsmen put the final nail in the coffin of Tigers.

Babar is not out on 143 runs and Asad scored an unbeaten 60 runs. Both batsmen added 137 runs till the end of 2nd day’s play. Pakistan are 342/3.
